nimittāni ca paśyāmi viparītāni keśava
na ca śreyo ‘nupaśyāmi hatvā sva-janam āhave

syntax

he keśava (O Keśava!),
[aham] ca (and I) viparītāni nimittāni (wrong omens) paśyāmi (I see),
āhave ca (and in battle) sva-janaṁ (own people) hatvā (after killing),
[aham] (I) śreyaḥ (the welfare) na anupaśyāmi (I do not foresee).
