In the venerable Mahābhārata, [which is] Vyāsa’s saṁhitā [composed] of one hundred thousand [verses], in Bhīṣma-parvan
śrīmad-bhagavad-gītāsu upaniṣatsu brahma-vidyāyāṃ yoga-śāstre śrī-kṛṣṇārjuna-saṃvāde śraddhā-guṇa-nirdeśo / śraddhā-viveka-yogo / śraddhā-guṇa-bhedo / śraddhā-maya-puruṣa-varṇana-pūrvakaṃ tri-guṇa-rūpa-tapa?āhāra-yajña-trividha-tapo-dāna-brahma-nirdeś?oṃ-tat-sad-asat-prayoga-varṇanaṃ / guṇa-karma-śraddhā-viveka-yogo / śraddhā-trividha-yogo / guṇa-yogo / śraddhā-traya-yogo / śraddhā-traya-vibhāga-yogo / siddhāṃta-yogo / prakṛti-guṇa-saṃyogo / karma-guṇa-vibhāga-yogo / śāstra-yogo / śraddhā-vibhāga-yogo / guṇa-nirdeśa-yogo nāma saptadaśo ‘dhyāyaḥ

rajas-tamo-mayīṃ tyaktvā śraddhāṃ sattva-mayīṃ śritaḥ |
tattva-jñāne ‚dhikārī syād iti saptadaśe sthitam ||

śraddhā-traya-vibhāga-yogo nāma saptadaśo ‚dhyāyaḥ ||

yat syāt tad eva mokṣārham ity adhyāyārtha īritaḥ ||
iti sārārtha-varṣiṇyāṃ harṣiṇyāṃ bhakta-cetasām |
gītāsv ayaṃ saptadaśaḥ saṅgataḥ saṅgataḥ satām ||
śraddhāṃ svabhāvajāṃ hitvā śāstrajāṃ tāṃ samāśritaḥ |
